DS1307 RTC Module
RTC stands for real-time clock. The RTC Module DS1307 provides a DS1307 real-time clock with a 32-kHz crystal and onboard battery backup. The RTC Module DS1307 is available in a small SIP module because of that it is easy to plug into a breadboard. The DS1307 provides seconds, minutes, hours date, a day of week and year with leap-year compensation up to the year 2100. You can use 24-hour mode or 12-hour mode with AM/PM indication and there are 31 bytes of RAM that are also battery-backed. It gives to your project the ability to tell time, store time or make time-based decisions with 1-second resolution in a small, compact form-factor. Easily store settings or parameters using the 31 bytes of battery-backed RAM.
DS1307 RTC Module
It is compatible with microprocessor and Arduino. It communicates with a microprocessor or Arduino via a simple serial interface. Synchronous serial communication simplifies the interfacing of the DS1302 with a microprocessor. Only three wires are necessary to communicate with the clock/RAM: CE, I/O (data line), and SCLK (serial clock). Data transformation is to and from the clock/RAM 1 byte at a time or in a burst of up to 31 bytes. The design of DS1307 is such a way that it can operate on very low power and retain data and clock information on less than 1μW.
The DS1307 is the successor to the DS1203. In addition to the basic timekeeping functions of the DS1203, the DS1307 has the additional features of dual power pins for primary and backup power supplies, a programmable trickle charger for VCC1, and seven additional bytes of scratchpad memory.
